Dear USC community,

As we process the tragic events at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh, I wish to extend our community’s condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones, and our gratitude to the first responders.

Events such as these are deeply painful, and at USC, we are so fortunate to have a close-knit and strong interfaith community, one that helps us come together, imagine a kinder world, and ultimately heal.

I am sharing a message that our dean of religious life, Varun Soni, sent to our religious life community over the weekend.  His letter invites all members of our community to attend an interfaith candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 30 in the courtyard of the University Religious Center (URC), hosted by USC Hillel, Chabad@USC, and the USC Office of Religious Life.  You are most welcome to attend.

Sincerely,

Wanda M. Austin

Interim President
